It’s time for another review of my favorite club.
I had intentions of going to OG after Pete’s offer, but after finding out he does not get in until after 10pm, and since I’m not a late night guy it didn’t happen. I’ll stay after midnight; I just don’t want to go in late.
1) Not once was I charged to get in. Maybe it would have happened if I came in later, but I got in before 10pm each time.
2) I ate there many times and the food was top notch every time.
3) Happy hour beers are $3.50 until 7pm and $5.50 after. I bought a couple of dancers some high end shots, $7 to $9 each. I really liked the dancer that drank Michelob light during happy hours, my kind of gal. Plus she’s nice and hotter than hell.
4) Hit two poker hands for $100 each, ended up about even over all. Plus all the free drinks of course.
5) The dancers ranged between 4’s and 8’s. I spent some serious time with 3 over 4 days. Most of the dancers I’ve let sit with me have been fun to be with. Great dances, like to laugh and seem to enjoy working there.
I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a 10 working there, you just have to understand this going in. It’s a local’s bar that just happens to be a strip club. Stay out of the VIP room, the Fantasy room will give you as much as is available. What’s available depends on the dancer, just as in any other club.

I’m getting nervous for my favorite club.
Two years ago they went through a remodel and changed their food service.
1) Dropped the free lunch buffet.
2) Expanded the menu.
I understood the buffet was a loss leader, but it kept people coming in. It’s what brought me to the club initially. $5 two beers and lunch buffet. I’ve spent thousands there over the years. True story. Then over the last two years I go in to eat off the menu and I’m one of the only customers in the place (during lunch). I usually eat lunch & dinner there, the food was excellent.
I was in Vegas last week on business and went in to eat lunch to find they are removing the kitchen. I was the only customer in the place. 3 dancers, 1 bartender, 1 DJ, a couple of guys hauling kitchen equipment out the door and me.
My guess, they will be closed during the day next. Let’s say from 5am to about 4pm.
I feel the club is in death throws, I sure hope it makes it, but it might not. There are more clubs closer to the strip than Sam’s. My feeling there is some mismanagement going on. Not advertising their strong points as a local bar, no cover most of the time, inexpensive drinks compared to the big clubs, good food, gaming ect…

| Definitely sounds dismal. Sign of the economy probably, but they need to bring the lunch buffet back fast. You are spot on I feel. |

Update visit to Sam's
I was in town a few weeks ago and went in. More changes. Now the $20 lap dances are done in the booths out front. The "Fantasy Room" is for the 3 for $100 dances and the VIP room is like $300 for a half hour.
A dancer than I fell in love with for the evening told me they are not charging house fees. I suspect the club is taking a percentage of each dance. I suspect they are having trouble keeping dancers since the 3 or 4 times I was there I was one of the few customers.
The changes are coming from a hired consultant. The problem in my mind is that he's trying to make Sam's like the big clubs. But Sam's is a small club to far off the strip too be like them. It's a bar that just happens to be a strip club.
If you hire a consultant you should do what he says or why hire him, but if he's wrong he probably still gets paid. In my opinion, if it wasn't for the poker machines they'd be history.
They need to look back at when they were busy, see what they were doing right, then expand on that. And I think they should do it fast.

Sam's is making me crazy! I guess at some point I'll just stop going there.
New sign, wow, ah, neat (big damn deal, not much better than the old one IMO), but who knows maybe it'll help.
I go in at 9pm, gal at the door checks ID, no problem. Then quietly says $10. I tell her I've never paid a cover and have spent thousands there, she says sorry. I said "me to" and left.
Went to Big Dogs, had a damn good burger, 3 free beers while playing video poker and won about $100 bucks.

Sounds like the consultants ruined a good thing.
I've never gone there, yet have heard about the buffet. Idiotic to take it out. And then they try to charge you the 10 bucks.
I'm sure the consultants said they have to charge cover, no exceptions.
Idiots. |
